The very first piece in the limited edition range, commissioned by British Royalty, and carrying the coveted serial number M1 1/100. The Semi-Elliptical Grand Cabinet is a magnificent eight foot display cabinet showcasing some of the most challenging furniture-making processes possible.
Whereas it is commonplace to find cabinets made in a semi-circular shape, this simply would not work on this scale, as the depth would be too great. The more ambitious and elegant semi-elliptical shape has therefore been undertaken instead.
To further enhance the aesthetics, a bold cross-grained tulipwood cornice is executed around the entire cabinet; a feature rarely attempted due to the extreme difficulty of manufacture. This band of tulipwood is then reflected in three graduated thinner bandings around the doors and legs.
This breathtaking cabinet would make a superb statement in any larger sized room, whether a drawing room, dining room, library, study, or even in a hall. With glass shelves and built-in lighting, it is ideal for displaying beautiful china, collectibles, objects d’art, trophies or awards.
