Designed to complement the M3 Koto Wood Inlay Coffee Table, this elegant console table is presented in American black walnut with a Koto (African chestnut) inlay. Again, it breaks from the tradition of presenting marquetry inlay lengthways around the edge of a furniture piece. It turns the whole concept around to use shorter lengths of inlay and rotating them through 90 degrees. The inlay is presented in different lengths to trace out an arc, producing an interesting aesthetic effect.
Called sideboards, or pier tables, in the 17th and 18th centuries, this console table is a modern interpretation, designed to stand against the wall, perhaps in a corridor or under a mirror. Ideal for displaying either flowers, objects of beauty, photos or for practical uses like a place for your telephone handset, this elegant table is a fine and unusual piece in its own right.
