This chest of drawers is inspired by the simple elegance of the ellipse. Marcus White has always loved the purity of this shape, (which is second only to the circle, the purest of all geometrical shapes) and strives to incorporate it into his furniture designs.
Achieving this goal leads to a technically demanding piece which requires very high levels of skill to manufacture. The elegance of the shape has been further enhanced by a scallop set into the front face of the piece. This creates a niche into which bespoke mirror polished stainless steel handles sit, the design of which is a mirror reflection of the curve of the scallop. Presented here in the unusual veneer Red Gum and solid Cedar of Lebanon, this piece is perfect as a pair of luxury bedside chest of drawers, or positioned between sofas in the living room.
